Inside LHi Europe’s H1 incentive trip to Lisbon
Lisbon was the destination for our latest European H1 incentive, bringing together some of LHi's top performers to celebrate a brilliant first half of the year.
With Steve Earl and Sue White hosting, the group spent a few days making the most of the city, think tuktuks, rooftop DJs, a beach club, some seriously good food and more karaoke than anyone probably planned for.
We caught up with Steve and Sue after the trip to get their version of events and find out what made Lisbon one to remember.
Steve’s take on Lisbon
Lisbon in three words. Go.
"Beautiful, fun, hilly."
What was your favourite moment of the whole trip?
"The rooftop bar with a DJ event. Everyone dancing together and having a great time!"
Be honest… who surprised you most on the karaoke mic?
"Ed Bevans."
What was the energy like within the group over the weekend?
"Constant and electric."
You’ve been on plenty of LHi incentive trips over the years. What made Lisbon stand out?
Incredible food, some of the best fish and steak I’ve eaten!
What would you say to someone who has never been on an LHi incentive trip and is thinking, “I need to be on the next one”?
"Make it happen! It takes consistent hard work and refining your craft. However, for those who dedicate themselves day in, day out, you’ve got a very good chance of going!"
Sue’s take on Lisbon
Which part of the itinerary were you most excited about beforehand, and did it live up to expectations?
"The beach club! It’s always a firm favourite for me – absolutely loved it."
What was the funniest moment of the weekend?
"Jason’s sunburn five minutes after stepping off the plane."
Tuktuk tour, castle, karaoke or beach club – which one are you choosing?
"Karaoke all day, every day! Karaoke in the car, karaoke in the street with live music, karaoke in the pub!"
What was the best thing you ate or drank in Lisbon?
"The piña coladas in the pineapples."
What was it like getting to celebrate H1 with the people who had earned their place on the trip?
"Such an epic way to celebrate, so many amazing individual performances. We even got to announce an LHi first – a DOUBLE promotion – on the trip!"
If you could bring one thing from the Lisbon trip back to an LHi office, what would it be?
"Our friends from the Manchester and Berlin offices – I’d love to see them more!"
One for the books
The food might have been some of the best Steve has had, and Sue may have managed to turn most of Lisbon into a karaoke venue, but the weekend was ultimately about celebrating the people who had earned their place there.
It was a chance to bring people from our European teams together, recognise some brilliant H1 performances and enjoy everything Lisbon had to offer while they were at it.
